How to post a workflow as a video

Some things are much easier said than written.

When the workflow is steps, writing it out is fine. But when the interesting part is why you did something, writing turns it into a case study and nobody wants to read a case study about a Tuesday afternoon.

Talking about it is different. You'll say things out loud you'd never write down. That you tried the obvious version first and it was flat. That you nearly went with the safer option. That the good bit was an accident you noticed and kept. That's the reasoning and it's the part someone else can learn from, but written down it looks like you're admitting something.

So use video when the thinking matters more than the process. Phone camera, no edit, under two minutes. Say what you did, show the part that mattered, say what came out.

It doesn't need to be good. It needs to be you explaining something you already understand, which is the easiest thing in the world to do and the hardest thing to fake. That's also why it travels: people can tell the difference between someone who did the work and someone describing work.
